Top Picks for Memorial Day Weekend





It's finally here!  The kickoff weekend to the summer has begun.  Make sure you have your summer bucket lists ready , it's on!  I hope to spend our weekend outside as much as possible, celebrating summer with friends!  Besides the backyard barbecues, don't forget our local kid-friendly outdoor restaurants.  Let me know your favorites!

This is a small farmers market, but one of my favorites.  I love stocking up on fresh fruits and veggies, cheeses, breads, even wines for the weekend.  In the past, we've grabbed foccaccia and strawberries here, and then had a picnic dinner.

Over 40 vendors, growers, and producers providing locally grown, caught, and homemade items.

Seussical: The Family Musical

Westhampton Beach Performing Arts Center
A musical performance of Dr. Seuss's stories emceed by The Cat in the Hat himself.  Recommended for ages 4 and up.  Tickets start at $15.

Kites for a Cure
4:00-6:00pm
Coopers Beach, Southampton Village
Rain date of Sunday
A family kite fly to benefit lung cancer research.  A donation of $30 gives you a kite you can decorate on site, or you can just sit back and watch the kites soar.  Pack a dinner and make it a family picnic.  Don't forget picnics make great bucket list items!

Sunday, May 26th
Steamers Public Run
10:30am-3:30pm
Southaven Park, Brookhaven
This will be the first run of the season, 5/19 was rained out.  I am so excited to participate in one of these runs, see bucket list!  My train loving boy is going to go crazy!!!Ride on train runs go from 10:30-3, tickets are required, donations are accepted.

17th Annual Community Mosaic Street Painting Festival
12:00-5:00pm
East End Arts, E. Main Street, Riverhead
Day long celebrations of the arts: steer painters, performers, artisan and craft fair, etc.

East Quogue Fire Department Memorial Day Parade
1:00-2:30pm
Main Street, East Quogue
I love parades!  Watching a parade is another bucket list item for us.

Monday, May 27th
Hand-Aldrich Post 924 Memorial Day Parade
10:00am-12:00pm
Pongquogue Road, Hampton Bays
Parade time!!!!
