On Mother’s day, my family chose to spend some time at the
Long Island Game Farm in Manorville. We
chose this for a number of reasons. One,
mom’s were half price on Mother’s Day.
Another, the weather was beautiful and JJ loves nothing more than being
outside. And finally, the beautiful
Mother’s Day brunch I experienced when he was only 7 months and not walking
(i.e. running) everywhere, was certainly not going to be as enjoyable at 19 months.
So after opening my amazing gifts, and a stop for coffee and bagels, we were off to
the Long Island Game Farm. This was a
short drive from Hampton Bays, right in Manorville. JJ loves to walk on his own, so we did not
bring a stroller, but it seemed very manageable if you did. We visited all the animals, rode the teacups,
and the carousel, and spent some time relaxing in the shade. I had packed snacks and water, and we had
just eaten breakfast, so we did not buy any food inside the farm, but they had a food stand. They had many shady areas to enjoy a snack
and rest. We all loved visiting the baby
animals, the giraffe, the rides, and just soaking up the sun together. One disappointment was that the train ride
did not open till 1:00. We knew he was
not going to make it that long, but he was very upset about not getting to ride
it that day. We had a great time at the
Long Island Game Farm, and highly recommend it.
