Harvest Activities Continue and Halloween Fun Starts!!!!!


As October continues, the harvest activities continue and Halloween fun starts!  Enjoy it!!!!





Saturday, October 19

11:00am-12:00pm- Surfin' Safari- Hither Hills State Park, Montauk- Keep your eyes and ears open for evidence of animal life. check for animal tracks, features, burrows, and sounds. Meet at Hither Hills Visitor Center. Parking is free.
$4 adults, $3 for children ages 3-17, under 3 is free.

11:00am-2:00pm- Enchanted Forest Trail- Quogue Wildlife Refuge, Quogue- Meet whimsical, fun, and educational characters on the forest trails.  The parking lot will be full of games and activities.  Dress up if you like.
Ages 2-7 with adult.  Reservations are required.  $10 per person.  This event also takes place Sunday, October 27th.

11:00am-4:00pm- Harvest Celebration at Long Island Science Center, 11 West Main Street, Riverhead

12:00pm-4:00pm- AAA Member Spooktacular at Tanger Outlets in Riverhead- This event is free for everyone, but if you are an AAA member RSVP on the AAA website to be entered for a $100 gift card to Tanger.

Sunday, October 20

11:00am-12:00pm- Family Scavenger Hunt, Downs Farm Preserve, Cutchogue- Group for the East End, Southold Mother's Club, and Lyrical Children are hosting the 1st Annual Family Scavenger Hunt through the woodlands of Downs Farm Preserve. Please contact Lisa at tuthill1@aol.com or Missy at mweiss@eastendenvironmnet.org to register. Suggested donation of $5 per family.

Yeah October is Here!


October, one of my favorite months, is finally here! It is perfect here on the east end this time of year. Enjoy this gorgeous weather, and all that our area has to offer.





Saturday, October 5

10:00am-10:00pm San Genaro Fest- Good Ground Road, Hampton Bays- Parade (10:30), Carnival rides, food, live entertainment, and fireworks (Saturday night). This is 10-10 on Sunday as well.

11:00am-5:00pm- Pumpkinfest- Suffolk County Farm and Education Center, Yaphank- Pumpkin picking, crafts, games, wagon rides, and more. This is 11-5 on Sunday as well

12:00pm-3:00pm- Autumn Orchard Festival- The Orchard at Topping Rouse House, 1 Bridgehampton-Sag Harbor Turnpike, Bridgehampton- Pumpkin decorating, caramel apples, farm tours, mulled cider, local beer, cider doughnuts, grilled sausage and veggies. All inclusive admission at $35 for adults and $15 for children. This is 12-3 Sunday as well.

1:00pm-4:00pm- Circus Day at the Parrish Art Museum- Parrish Art Museum, 279 Montauk Highway, Water Mill- An Art Midway of circus themed projects and circus workshops. The Amazing Grace Circus Youth Troupe will demonstrate a variety of circus skills including walking the tightrope, juggling, plate spinning, and unicycling. $10/ free for members, children, and students.

2:00pm-3:00pm- Jungle Bob- Quogue Wildlife Refuge, Quogue- Live animal program for all ages.  $5 suggested donation. Reservations required.

Sunday, October 6
Don't forget the San Genaro Fest, Pumpkinfest, and Autumn Orchard Festival all continue on Sunday.

1:00pm-4:00pm- Riverhead Fire Department Open House- 540 Roanoake Avenue, Riverhead- Displays, demos, hands on use of hose, light refreshments.
