Top Picks for 7/5-7/7


Happy 4th of July!  It's going to be beautiful this weekend.  Enjoy all our area has to offer this time of year, but don't forget to stay hydrated and use that sunscreen!

Friday:
It must be carnival season!!!!

  • 6:00pm-11:00pm- Greenport Fourth of July Carnival, Moore's Lane, Greenport.  Also happening Saturday 6:00pm-11:00pm
  • 6:00pm-11:00pm- Peconic Bay Medical Center Family Carnival, 6164 Route 25A, Wading River.  Also happening Saturday 4:00pm-9:00pm and Sunday 2:00pm-7:00pm.
  • 6:00pm-7:30pm- Pizza and Pajama Night at CMEE- Children's Museum of the East End.  Pizza and Pajama Night will be held at the Madoo Conservancy in Sagaponack.  Children will explore the grounds and participate in a scavenger hunt.  Reservations are required.  Contact CMEE.
  • 7:00pm-11:00pm- North Sea Fire Department Carnival, North Sea Firemen's Memorial Athletic Field, Noyac Road, North Sea.  Also happening Saturday 7:00-11:00 and Sunday 7:00-11:00
  • 8:30pm-10:30pm- Guild Hall Films at the Farm: Jurassic Park, Mulford Farm, 10 James Lane, East Hampton. Bring a picnic and enjoy an outdoor movie.  $5 admission, free under age 5.  Tickets available at Guild Hall.  
  • 9:00pm-10:00pm- Southampton Fireworks.  Visible over Shinnecock Bay and Coopers Beach.
Saturday: 
  • 10:00am-3:00pm- Coast Guard Open House at Shinnecock Station, 100 Foster Avenue, Hampton Bays
  • 11:00am-3:00pm- St. Luke's Summer Fair, 18 James Lane, across from the pond, East Hampton. Pony rides, games, music, face painting, balloons, raffles, and fair food.  True summer fun!
  • 9:00pm- Amagansett Fireworks, Devon Yacht Club, Amagansett- private club, but visible from Fresh Pond Beach.
  • 9:00pm- Riverbed Raceway Fireworks- 1797 Old Country Road, Riverhead
  • 9:30pm- Sag Harbor Fireworks- Sag Harbor Yacht Club- private club, but visible from Havens Beach, Marine Park, Long Wharf, or the harbor.
  • 10:00pm- North Sea Fireworks- at the North Sea Carnival
Sunday:
  • 10:00am- The Secret Life in a Pond, South Fork Natural History Museum, Bridgehampton.  For children ages 6 and over.  A hands on program where children explore pond life.  There is a $3 materials fee.  To make a reservation for this program, please call the museum at 631-537-9735.
Looking ahead:
  • If your older children are getting bored, now is the time to look into the offerings of the Town of Southampton's Youth Bureau.  Mondays and Thursdays, they offer pool night at SYS.  On Mondays, it is Neighborhood Nights in Flanders, and on Wednesdays it'sTeen Night at Ludlum Park.  And, on every Tuesday, there are local field trips.  This Tuesday is Cousins Paintball.  Check it out here!
  • Lots of outdoor concerts this week.  Tuesday, there are concerts in Montauk and East Quogue, and on Wednesday there is a concert in Southampton.  Check out our events calendar for details.
