It’s mommy’s time to play! Finding time to workout...
Before we had kids, lets face it we had all the time we needed to conquer the world. Fast forward to the present, now you’re a mom and nothing will ever be the same!
As moms we tend to put ourselves, our needs, and even our health on the back burner. There is always something that has to be done with the children, the house, or our significant other. In time our lives will be harder to keep up with if we do not have the energy and stamina to keep up the pace our lives require.
So, its mommy’s time to play! Working out does not have to be work. I know for me personally, working out is an outlet. I feel so good about my body, and I have a great time doing it. My children see me taking care of myself and it sets the example for them that they need to be good to themselves. Now you may be wondering, how do I find the time to workout as a mom of 7 children. It isnt always easy, but I get it in however and wherever I can. I use my environment such as chairs, cans of soup, and yes even my 6 month old son! I workout during naps, when the kids are playing on their own, and just whenever I can get a quick set in. To be honest my favorite and most effective ways of working out are doing it in a group setting with other moms who also have children (the kids think its play time for them but it really is a mommy trick for time for me!) and doing workouts with my children. My 6 yr. old daughter loves dancing so we Zumba, and they all love yoga so we break out the mats!
Being a mom does not mean you have to give up you. Taking care of yourself is one of the greatest lessons you will ever teach your children!
