Top Weekend Picks




It looks like it is going to be a beautiful weekend!!!!  Grab you families and enjoy our local beaches, parks, playgrounds, farmers' markets, strawberry fields, vineyards, bays, restaurants.....the list is endless.  Enjoy it!

Friday
11:00- The Princess, the Frog, and the Pea, a puppet show at Goat on a Boat Puppet Theatre.  A 30 minute all ages tabletop puppet show.  Tickets are $12, $10 for grandparents, and $5 for children under 3.  The theatre is located on Rt. 114 and East Union Street in Sag Harbor, behind Christ Episcopal in the lower level of the Parrish Hall.  Show will be on Saturday too.

Saturday
All day- Kids Summer Reading Fair at Bookhampton, locations in Southampton, East Hampton, and Mattituck.  Purchase your kid's summer reading list, and find some good beach reads for yourself.

11:00 Art Adventures- Preview a summer art class being held at CMEE.  This class is appropriate for ages 2 and up.  This Saturday, children will listen to a read aloud of The Earth and I by Frank Asch and experiment with liquid watercolors. Class cost is $5 for members and $16 for nonmembers, includes admission to museum.

1:00 beach walk- Introductory seashell identification walk with South Fork Natural History Museum's director.  Must preregister, call 631-537-9735

Sunday
11:00- Puppet Show at Marders in Bridgehampton. Show again at 3:00 and also shows on Saturday at 11:00 and 3:00.

8:15 pm- Strawberry Full Moon hike. The kids are out of school so let them stay up late and enjoy nature.  Join the Quogue Wildlife Refuge on a 1 1/2 hour walk for families with children 8 and up.  Must reserve a space.
