Top Weekend Picks
Well, I think Friday and Saturday might end up being a
washout. I’m hoping they’re not, but if
they are, it’s a perfect time to look into our local indoor activities. Experience nature indoors at the aquarium in
Riverhead, the Long Island Science Center in Riverhead, or the South ForkNatural History Museum in Bridgehampton.
Experience and create art at Hamptons Art Space in Hampton Bays or TheParrish Art Museum in Water Mill. Get
active indoors at Safari Adventure in Riverhead. Here are some more indoor activities for
Friday and Saturday:
Friday
10:30 am- Start your weekend of right with a workout! Check out Baby Boot Camp in Southampton. This is a great way to get fit, while still
being with your child. Classes are held
rain or shine at First Presbyterian Church of Southampton.
6:00pm-7:30pm- Pizza and Pajamas! What a great way to enjoy a rainy night. Come to CMEE in your pajamas. Eat pizza, hear
a story, and do an art activity. This
event is for all ages with caregivers.
Saturday
10:00 am Funtastic Science Class at CMEE- This is the start
of a 4 week class for ages 2 and up at CMEE.
Each week is a different theme.
10:00 am Shark Dissection at SoFo- So sad JJ is too young
for this one, because this is right up my husband’s alley. Ages 8 and up can join the SoFo staff for a
spiny dogfish dissection.
2:00pm Storytime Yoga- A rainy day is a good day for a story
and yoga. The class is a Kamadeva Kids
in East Hampton for all yogis walking to age 6.
Sunday
I’m banking on the weather being nice today!!!! I really hope it is because I want to head to
the Long Island Steamers Public Run Day!!

Happy Thursday! It is
almost the weekend, so I’m making my top weekend picks. These picks are picks that appeal to my
working mom schedule, and my interests.
They may not be yours, so please check out all of our local events on
the blog. It is going to be a hot weekend! Please make sure you get those kids coated in sunscreen and hats, you too moms! Rather than pack your weekend full, this weather calls for baby pools and cool drinks:)
All Weekend:
·
East End farmer’s markets are up and running!!!
This hot weather calls for lots of fresh produce, so check out East Hampton,
Hayground, Sag Harbor, Westhampton Beach, or Southampton this weekend!

also be BMX stunt riders, and kids can bring their bikes for a bike rodeo. And of course, traditional fair foods, games,
and rides. The event costs $3 and is
free for kids 2 and under and all Phillips Avenue students. Phillips Avenue School is located at 141
Phillips Avenue in Flanders.

Hamptons Collegiate Baseball Season begins! My husband loves all sports, and is dying to
take our son to a baseball game. I’m not
sure JJ is ready for the prime time, even a minor league game, so the Hamptons
Collegiate Baseball League is great for us.
He gets to watch a game, be close to home, and run around too! Plus, no ridiculously expensive tickets and
concessions. Games start this
Sunday. On Sunday at 5:00pm, you can see
the North Fork Ospreys play the Riverhead Tomcats at Riverhead High School, the
Westhampton Aviators play the Southampton Breakers at Stony Brook Southampton,
or the Shelter Island Bucks play the Sag Harbor Whalers at Mashashimuet
Park. I’m thinking Mashahsimuet as that will
give JJ the most room to playJ Look for a post about Hamptons Collegiate
Baseball soon and check out their website here http://pointstreaksites.com/view/hamptonsbaseball/hamptons-collegiate-baseball-league.

Planning for Summer
As the school year wraps up (and my stress levels rise), I am busily planning our summer. I am planning activities at home, as well as structured lessons, and vacations. I am focusing on age appropriate activities for him (almost 19 months), but in my inbox this morning were two great summer planning resources for older kids. The first was a groupon for a membership to Long Island Science Center in Riverhead: http://www.groupon.com/deals/long-island-science-center?c=deal_button&d=deal-page&date=20130506&p=1&s=body&sid=a52d867a-bc91-4f44-b15d-7e0f21481e81&user=e371b951c6f507c385ed6a14cb7bbdbb72fdeadde191bf772a1914e7f17375a0&utm_campaign=long-island-science-center&utm_medium=email&utm_source=newsletter
and the second was Southampton Town's summer programs:
